• Current capacity as Lead Inspector - provide advice, direction and guidance on the WHS legislation to a range of people including my subordinate inspectors, unit manager and admin staff; area director and their staff, other units within the organisation and external stakeholders including Queensland workplaces, high risk work (HRW) licence assessors and licence holders and other OHS jurisdictions across Australia and New Zealand.
• Allocate work to staff based on their areas of interest and expertise as well as current organisational objectives and needs.
• Conduct, coordinate, and facilitate training, workshops, and forums for internal and external stakeholders to support understanding of and build capacity to adhere to legislation.
• As an inspector, regulate workplaces across Queensland under the OHS legislation, currently the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and conduct workplace inspections and audits as well as conduct and coordinate investigations across a broad spectrum of aspects within WHSQ.
• Author reports to external parties; prepare briefs and attachments to directors, executive directors, and the Deputy Director General.
• Coordinate and facilitate workshops for indigenous communities to build understanding and capacity in OHS Legislation
• Provide guidance to organisations working in and with indigenous groups including training providers for high risk work and to assist in obtaining high risk work licences.

• Manage a diverse team of licensing officers, administration staff, advisors and inspectors regulating legislation and guiding in incident and complaint notifications and authorisation applications for health and safety representative, general construction induction training as well as high risk, demolition and asbestos work.
• Delegated to approve exemptions for high risk work licence assessor activities including notification exemptions, requests to conduct special assessments.
• Liaise with Unit Directors providing support and advice units across WHSQ.
• Conduct performance reviews of team members.
• Provided ongoing team support, direction and guidance.
• Manage escalated complaints as well as emerging or contentious issues.
• Develop, maintain, review and update policies and procedures relevant to emerging issues and current business requirements.
• Consulted with other government bodies in the development of application and license review following national harmonisation of Work Health and Safety legislation in 2011 and ongoing redevelopment of high risk work licencing systems.
