Managed operated and grew the lunchbar into a profitable small business.


  • Created a food truck which serviced the Malaga area daily
  • Built a successful customer base servicing customers daily by bringing quality food to there workplace at requested break times.
  • Built a efficient working kitchen buy implimenting procedures and kitchen equipment to save time and labour costs.
  • Studied and created unique recipes
  • Increased turnover from $1750 per week to aprox $7000 per week.


Overall i followed a passion that i had wanted to do for many years and with a lot of hard work and commitment both myself and my wife turned Rockafellas lunch diner into a successful small business.

I was employed by BARECO to look after our wholesale/dealer customer base (aprox 200) AGRICULTURE AND TRACTOR SPARE PARTS.


My duties included;

  • Visiting all customers on a 10-12 week cycle , including metro and country/regional customers.
  • Keeping customers up to date with new product and procedures
  • Taking customer orders and credits.
  • Setting up new accounts.
  • Installing and setting up displays and shelving to showcase our fast moving products in Dealers showrooms.
  • Working in the Warehouse to help out through peak season,including order proccessing,customer enquiries,stock loads and more.


Overall i really enjoyed my time at BARECO, i was given a chance to exercise my views and capabilities giving feedback directly to our owners over east in areas i believed we could grow whether it was in product range or daily operations.

I started this business from home in my garage which quickly grew and i then moved into a small factory in MALAGA.


Daily duties included;

  • emptying previous days production from moulds
  • cleaning and pre-spraying moulds
  • mixing and pouring daily paver production.
  • working on new product
  • studying competitors product,pricing,daily production capabilities.
  • sourcing chemicals and additives to add into my products to help sustain presentation,durability and long lasting quality products at very competitive prices.


I had plans to turn the production into a semi automated pneumatic system, i had started personally manufacturing/fabricating this system but unfortunately a personal reason had me sell the business.

I was contacted by HARDY SPICER asking if i would be interested in Semi-Managing the Driveshaft division,which i accepted.


My duties included;

  • daily customer enquiries
  • quoting/pricing jobs and turning them into a job sheet/card for the workshop
  • ordering stock either from the central warehouse or local purchasing.
  • allocating jobs and responsibilities to workshop staff
  • problem solving
  • maintaining workshop consumables
  • onsite measure up and quoting
  • holding a weekly toolbox meeting with workshop staff
  • helping in the workshop when required (on the tools)


Overall i loved the challenge i was offered and believe i delivered in what was expected confidently and efficiently.

WORKSHOP FABRICATOR

09.2000 - 09.2002

I was employed as a workshop fabricator/all rounder.

Fabricating and manufacturing farm machinery and implement.


My duties included;

  • measuring and cutting materials for specific jobs
  • welding
  • making slashers,grader blades and other implements
  • building front end loaders to suit individual tractors (1 offs) all built from scratch from roar materials
  • basic hydraulics to suit the front end loaders i built


Overall i loved the knowledge i gained in this position,unfortunately the conditions and pay were poor which had me searching for other employment.

WORKSHOP FOREMAN

VERRIERS ENGINEERING
04.1998 - 09.2002

I was employed at VERRIERS ENGINEERING to build Driveshafts.


My duties included;

  • measuring and cutting materials
  • building new Driveshafts
  • repairing and modifying Driveshafts
  • parts ordering
  • balancing Driveshafts
  • fitting and removing Driveshafts
  • machining (lathe)
  • welding
  • dealing with customers and over the counter sales and enquiries
  • managing day to day runnings/requirements of back half of the workshop which was the driveline and diff section.


Overall i enjoyed my time at VERRIERS

I was picked up by HARDY SPICER through the apprentice board.

I had been half way through my apprenticeship as a Fitter & Turner.


My duties included;

  • building Driveshafts
  • measuring and cutting materials
  • welding
  • machining
  • balancing
  • general workshop duties


Overall i was very grateful to HARDY SPICER for allowing me to continue my apprenticeship and to be honest was the stepping stone for me to have learnt certain skills which allowed me to broaden my options throughout my career.
