Based on sites around Queensland and reporting to the JV board in Brisbane, I was directly responsible for overseeing all project staff and subcontractors for all major projects, CHPP shutdowns, dragline shutdowns, LNG tank construction, gas compressor installations, distribution pipelines and shut down works on their Mining & LNG sites. Contract negotiation and development for sub- contractors, defining work and safety scopes and packaging, resolving engineering queries and safety issues, managing contractor claims, managing commercial equipment along with procurement contracts and packages. Staff training and safety performance reviewing, safety procedure checking and HR issue resolving.
Working closely with the engineers on design of new CSG & LNG mechanical installations, construction and infrastructure projects on various coal mining projects. Head of toolbox and pre-start meeting. EPCM and EPC management of all site contractors on construction while having total financial control including P&L of all site activities within the major projects and shut down departments. Senior mentor to all site managers, superintendents and supervisors, chair of the safety committee with a total of 750 staff under my control with 21 directly reporting to myself. Projects ranged between $1m to $80m in value.
