Promoted to Business Manager from marketing contract role, after identifying and implementing marketing and sales strategies, re-organisation of team, implementing systems and efficiencies that turned around the business performance rapidly.

  • General leadership of the Earthtrack operation across all business functions, reporting to the Board.
  • Strategy development and implementation to achieve three-fold growth in revenue and significantly improved net profit.
  • Strategic restructuring of the team that has grown from 12 to more than 30.
  • Implemented a change in product and market segment focus, which changed from direct to wholesale model, as well as new revenue streams. Negotiated rebate deals with Blackwoods (Wesfarmers), MMEM and servicing contracts with Fortescue.

Managed a team of 15 sales reps, and major builder accounts, as well as facilitated substantial change projects to improve customer retention and satisfaction. The challenge was in delivering product in a overheated market, lack of systems, poor strategy and inconsistent resourcing. Due to the progress demonstrated in a short time, was offered the WA State Manager position but declined for family reasons.

  • Succession planning to reinvigorate and strengthen the sales team resulted in 3 new reps joining the team to service customers and replace retiring reps (50% were over 60).
  • Worked with the State Manager to rebuild relationships with national accounts, re-negotiate to ensure profitable, improve procedures and upgrade customer service systems, implement training and tracking. This improved DIFOT to 80+% and customer satisfaction.
  • A considerable turnaround was achieved in the profitability of the State branch, in consultation with the National Leadership team of Jeld-Wen.

I was approached to join Pine Solutions as their National Marketing Manager at a time of unprecented change for the timber industry (construction grading standards, competition, environmental pressure).

  • Managed pricing, major standards changes in the timber industry and major retailer promotions with Bunnings, Danks Group, Hardwarehouse (now Bunnings) and Home Hardware with a marketing and sales team.
  • Participated in national strategic planning workshops with the Weyerhauser (Mill production), to change timber configurations based on changing consumer preferences.
  • Joined the Timber Association board with the big four national timber companies to manage strategic planning and communicatin of new standards.
  • Conference speaker at 2007 FrameBuild, 2006.

Started with this company as Marketing Coordinator (maternity contract), and was employed after successfully managing the turnaround of the NSW branch as a special project within 6 months. Then developed and implemented a national strategic marketing plan that set the direction of the brand and product positioning for the long term.

  • Worked with the GM NSW branch to achieve improvement in Delivery in Full/On Time from 45% to 80+%, with cost savings of $1m and profit improvements of 16% in first year and 21% in second year.
  • Implemented as a work improvement challenge throught the operation with factory staff and supervisors.
  • Managed strategic marketing planning and implementation, as well as operational improvement projects.
  • Worked with the R&D team to introduce voice of customer input and testing. Prioritised projects to create a rollout program condensed to 6 months.
  • Bradnam’s gained a market leadership position due to a specifiers program, assisting with selection of windows to achieve 6 star energy efficiency ratings (BASIX in NSW). Achieved an award for this innovation and market leadership.
  • Provided marketing and economic forecasting presentations to National Bradnams Licensee Conferences. Board member of AWA.
