· Personal Attributes
o Act with Integrity – is one of the foremost attributes not only in the professional arena but also in personal life. Every day I base all my work process and interactions with the main aim of acting with integrity and professionalism.
o Manage Self – I have a history of experience in adapting to new situations and achieving work goals. Like any direction in a personal or professional setting, there are always new improvements to be made along with adapting to new skills and development. Consulting with others always provides valuable feedback. In meeting these criteria, motivation even during difficult times is maintainable.
· Relationships
o Communicate Effectively – It is most important to be able to convey ideas in an easily understandable way. During my professional career I have clearly explained and presented all types of ideas at all levels. Respectful interaction is necessary for any workplace. People need to be able to communicate effectively and freely in a team environment. Preparing and presenting written material for use by a variety of audiences.
o Commit to Customer Service – Everyone who I interact with receives the same high-quality service as I would expect for myself. Answering telephones, counter enquiries and replying to emails in a timely manner is paramount. In response to enquiries, providing relevant information and answering their questions is important.
o Influence and Negotiate – In business, being able to influence and negotiate is imperative. Most importantly you need to be prepared, gather all the necessary facts, and prepare to deliver solutions in a positive and productive manner. To be able to listen to differences and arrive at a mutual agreement is important. Sometimes this is not necessarily achievable, and a conflict situation may arise. It may be appropriate to delay an agreement and introduce the assistance of a manager. At all times remain composed and understanding.
· Results
o Think and Solve Problems – Being informed and trained is the base of being able to effective think and solve problems. Preparation and research of the issue forms the base of the solution. Identifying any issues and seeking appropriate resolution is necessary. Teamwork and/or input from others will allow the task and finally recommendations are appropriate for the solution.
o Deliver Results – I have been able to continually deliver results by having a clear vision of goals and the ability or organise work plans for myself and the colleagues in my work group. Meeting targets on time by use of calendars and evaluating lists daily. Prioritising and delegating of tasks to meet deadlines.
· Business Enablers
o Finance – In addition to financial experience in the RFS with HR costing and funding, EAM and feedback on large projects, I have a great deal of experience with budgeting, profit and loss and regulatory fiscal responsibility with managing a small to medium business for 20 years. Understanding financial obligations is a very important part of most government roles today. It is all about providing a quality service whilst considering financial impacts.
o Project Management – In the beginning of 2017, I was the project lead for the NSW RFS Fixed Wing Airbase Project NSW RFS Headquarters – Aviation. The project ran for 3-6 months where I was responsible for collating and formatting information for the project which resulted in the project presentation to the senior staff of the RFS.
· People Management
o Manage and Develop People – Whilst running my business, I was responsible for up to 15 people over 2 states. Managing people was one of my core functions. Ensuring staff were achieving their benchmarks and managing their expectations. A workplace is more than just a place people come to spend their day working, it is a place of inclusiveness and ensuring people grow in their nominated vocational career.
