  • Founder and lead facilitator of Unconventional Leader, a company that specialises in delivering leadership and resilience training to public and private organisations through workshops, keynotes, and one-on-one coaching. Following a professional career of almost two decades, a need was identified to deliver effective leadership training to senior and emerging leaders, who had previously undertaken training focused on business management and with little ongoing support.
  • Entering its second year of operation, the company has assisted hundreds of individuals across the leadership spectrum, with established programs now operating within state government and private enterprise. Combining workshops with coaching, we have supported team leaders, executives and organisational leads reflect and refine their leadership styles, leveraging prior lived experience to generate real-world skills that have a resilient mindset as an underpinning foundation.

  • Part of the People and Organisation (P&O) team within the Brisbane office of the firm, focusing on leadership and coaching support to clients across the country. Sat within the leadership group in Brisbane responsible for business development and stakeholder relationships within the Queensland market. Through the role, was a lead within the healthcare leadership team and worked extensively with Queensland health delivering workshops on change, culture, communication, and resilience. Part of the executive coaching panel for Queensland Health, delivering one-on-one coaching for c-suite members of both the Department of Health and the 16 Hospital and Health Services. Additional role within the firm was the P&O lead for the national ‘Perform’ methodology that delivered an accelerated capability building program to create capacity and immediately realise results via coaching all levels of an organisations leadership. Supported multiple departments within the Federal Department of Human Services.

  • Built a performance consulting practice within Queensland to support both the national consulting practice and the existing network of clients held by the firm’s northern offices. Focusing on leadership I headed up both the Queensland and New South Wales teams as the hub leader, managing staff careers and driving strategic focus for the group. The role involved both the recruitment and development of a consulting focused team, stakeholder engagement and promotion of the new service offerings both internal and external to the firm, and the establishment of a new pipeline of client portfolios.

  • Responsible for the successful delivery of audits across a diverse range of local government, state government departments, corporations and statutory bodies. Responsibilities include: leading teams whilst project managing multiple audits looking at any aspect of the performance of public sector entities; and how effectively, efficiently and economically their objectives were being met. Projects entailed reviewing hospital utilisation of high value equipment, analysing policies, procedures and frameworks to identify best practice and ensure service delivery efficiency. Leveraging prior experience, the role included; client engagement and stakeholder management, developing and reviewing audit findings, conclusions and recommendations, and the production of parliamentary reports.

  • Worked as part of the National Capital Projects team; providing clients with core skills in project risk and procurement management, leadership and communication. Delivery involved working in Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, Queensland, New Zealand and Indonesia writing Program Management Plans, undertaking studies of project management efficiency, governance and auditing mining, rail and road infrastructure projects that ranged in scale from $800million - $2.5billion.

  • Responsible for all aspects of Occupational Health and Safety in a company of 400+ individuals that delivered upwards of 80 projects a year varying in size from low A$100,000s to over A$25 million. The role required running a safety team of five advisors whilst demonstrating compliance with the AS:18001 Safe Management System and providing the company with direction on all matters of Health, Safety and risk management. Reporting included; undertaking monthly audits of all live projects, incident and injury tracking including trend analysis, and quarterly reports to the Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner.

  • Lead manager on an AUD$25million industrial sub division site; managing teams varying in size from 10-45 personnel daily. Also led redevelopment work for company across the Lockyer Valley following the 2011 floods and was present during the 2013 floods. Included rapid reacting during the flooding followed local infrastructure reconstruction following the devastation .Roles included; daily client liaison, engagement with council and superintendent representatives on a daily basis, de-conflicting equipment delivery and maintenance, organising manpower and traffic management and managing the budget for monthly claims and reviews.

  • Multiple roles held across nine year career including: two year deployment to Germany running construction projects with the local community; construction tours of Cyprus and Northern Ireland to aid the local community with infrastructure upgrades and civil unrest; seven month deployment to Afghanistan conducting peace keeping operations involving clearance of explosive ordnance, rebuilding critical infrastructure and providing security stability to the local communities.
  • Team leading roles varied in size from 30 – 1,000 and courses including passing selection for the special force’s community and human intelligence groups as well as explosives, small weapons, and armoured vehicle training.
