William Lehane

I am a HMO3 with previous experience in Anaesthetics, Intenive Care, Emergency Medicine, as well as medical and surgical specialities. I am eager to further my career progression by working and gaining experience in an Anaesthetics role. I am very enthusiastic about anaethetics, and it is my long term goal to train and practise in this area. I am also eager to continue being actively involved in research and teaching.

• During my colorectal intern role, I was involved in teaching Final year medical students in both bedside tutorial and small classroom format. This included clinical examination and clinical knowledge tutorials, covering medical and surgical topics.
• During my cardiothoracic intern role, I was involved in intern shadowing teaching. This included practical skill teaching, as well as clinical knowledge tutoring in preparation for life as a clinical doctor.
• During my Gynaecology Intern role, I was involved in helping the incoming interns for the 2021 – 2022 year to learn and adapt to their new roles. This involved helping with day to day tasks, as well as on call duties.

Music:
- Cello and piano
- Multi-award winner in national and international competitions, both solo and ensembles
- Former member of Cairde Quartet, travelled and performed at concerts and festivals across multiple countries
- Former member of National Youth Orchestra
- Performed at many charity events, including events in aid of St. Vincent de Paul, Children's Leukaemia Association and Cork Penny Dinners

Sport:
- Played for Christian Brothers College Cork Junior and Senior Cup rugby team
- Former GAA player for Valley Rovers, winners of U16 County Premier Football Championship
- Current avid Golf player, as well as snowboarding and kite-boarding
