  • Worked at Mc Guiness Hills Facility Austin, Nevada. 184 M.W. Geothermal power plant.9 turbine generators total. Started as an outside operator making rounds and taking readings on equipment. For Plants, Injection field and Production Pumps Responded to all upsets. Equipment failures and starts and stops at the direction of the CRO to keep plant up and running at capacity.
  • Did all weekly and monthly work orders.
  • Followed training guidelines on schedule took oral. Board and written test and promoted to Control Room Operator where I was responsible for the steady state operation of the Mc Guiness Facility including starts, stops. Casualties. Upsets and planned shutdowns. Daily reports., midnight reports. Communication with Outside operator, plant electricians, Plant Maintenance, Management and Utility. Responsible for strict adherence to all safety policy and procedures for crew. We also ran 7 satellite plants in our region that were unmanned at night. And assisted operator from control board during day shift

  • Control Room Operator at 30 M.W, hog fuel plant. 2 coyote 180000lb boilers 2, 22 M.W. G.E turbines and generators,1- 7 M.W. BBC unit. Duties included 6 hours at the control board operating plant using Rosemont dcs.to keep plant at steady state condition. Responsible for safe efficient recovery or shutdown in the event of mechanical failure or casualty then rotated with my Shift Supervisor and 6 hrs. as outside operator responsible for every 2 hr. rounds and readings every 2-hr. boiler grate check and cleaning. Soot blows. Water chemistry. All procedures assisting control operators in operation of the plant. Check and clean lube oil centrifuge, plant air, plant washdown, Fuel system clean up. Aid and teach the 2nd operator the duties required to advance. All recording of Utility and Plant meters.

Advanced to outside operator working in conjunction with control operator to keep 22 Turbine generator sets at 3 separate plants running smoothly, all outside duties. Casualties, bringing up and putting machines on the grid. Taking units offline. Rounds, readings on all units 2 times per shift. Maintenance of plant equipment. Transferring of inspentane and hexo pentane between units and to storage. Strict adherence to safety procedures. Lotto.

  • Single man operations at a 7 M.W. cogeneration plant owned by Diamond Walnut Growers. Provided 15000 lbs. process steam to process plant and 45000 lbs. steam used to generate electricity, 1.5 M.W house load and the remainder sold to the utility. Was shift supervisor (single man ops), Mon-Friday supervised day man for assistance 9a.m - 5 p.m. 60,000 lb. boiler, steam feed water pump, Hagen pneumatic and Bailey double loop controls for boiler, a couple plc. controls, extensive water treatment system due to extremely high particulate of the water table in the delta. Very primitive co-gen, but great training fresh out of school.
