William Samuels

I am a very experienced CNC and Manual machinist having used a large variety of machines such as; Lathes, Mills, Slotting machines, Radial arm drills, Horizontal and vertical borers. I am confident to run almost any manual machine and write G-code to set up CNC lathes. We also take on many fabrication jobs and do AC/ DC Tig welding, Mig welding and Arc. I have spent a lot of time fitting and performing onsite machining such as line boring, bore welding and portable flange milling. I have a large background in the heavy marine industry servicing tug boats and ferries. Specialising in overhauling propulsion thrusters, rebuilding valves, pumps, winches, hydraulic cylinders, compressors and even engines.

Working primarily in the machine shop here I conducted many refurbishment and new builds. Refurbs consisted of checking propeller shaft straightness and straightening, blue fitting tappers by accurately hand scrapping, machining new shaft bearings. New builds consisted of machining new propeller shafts, couplings, carbon seals, and propellers. I helped with many other tasks on site such as engine alignments, changing engines/ gearboxes, overhauling pumps and valves.
