8-week placement at ED FMC provided me experience on various acute medical conditions and procedures, and has truly improved my nursing knowledge and clinical skills to a different level.

Descriptions:

• Frequently check life support equipment.
• Collaborate with MDT to quickly assess and deliver proper treatment to critically-ill patients.
• Transport patients between different locations. Identify conditions following test results. Perform ECG and identify irregular readings.
• Work with experienced RN to learn new procedures. Research different medications and conditions to become familiar with treatment protocols.
• Evaluate patient histories, complaints and current symptoms. Communicate with MDT to adjust care plans and improve treatment strategies.
• Administer medications following treatment plan. Monitor patients' outcomes to facilitate ongoing care.

3-week placement at Endoscopy Suite at FMC provided me experience on administration, patients' recovery from anaesthetics, and chances to observe different procedures.

8-week placement at General Medicine ward at RAH provided me opportunities on looking after patients with diverse chronic diseases, such as T2DM, COPD, mental health conditions, asthma and heart diseases.

4-week placement at Geriatric Ward at Modbury Hospital enhanced my knowledge, and nursing skills on looking after elder patients.
