A passionate and enthusiastic exercise physio student committed to helping clients optimize their health and wellbeing by examining the importance of physical activity upon chronic disease management for metabolic conditions. For instance, if a client struggles with her own health due to a significantly high BMI value, then her weight will be classified as ‘obese’, putting her at a high risk of developing CVD, notably atherosclerosis. Whilst consuming complex carbohydrate meals (low fat/sugar) is highly recommended, aerobic fitness programmes have proven to reduce this risk. A week long scheme where the client runs at a sustained intensity on the treadmill for 30 min (aerobic continuous training) each day could be a suggestion for her. By advising her to gradually increase the workload (7 km/h to 9 km/h), she was able to obtain optimal fitness levels through progressive overload. Communication also plays an important role as measuring her BMI under her consent strengthens the rapport.
