Over seven years of diverse work experience including within UNHCR covering protection, policy, statelessness in the Asia Pacific region working with refugees, asylum seekers and stateless persons. Operational and technical experience involving asylum capacity development for states, policy analysis, strategic advice to senior officials, family reunification, advocacy, stakeholder management, legal analysis, GRF, resettlement and complementary pathways demonstrating an extensive skillset of drafting papers and submissions encapsulating UNHCR doctrine and policy. Extensive experience facilitating, organizing and supporting national system strengthening initiatives on human rights, immigration detention reform, asylum, statelessness and migration law. With additional background and senior experience prior to UNHCR in the private sector, government and civil society supporting senior government officials including the Attorney-General, drafting legislation to manage corruption, providing policy and legal advice to all nine of the Police Commissioners of Australia and New Zealand. Experience facilitating training on international refugee law. Fluency in Dari.
