In my spare time, I have explored several career simulations through Forage. I decided to participate in Forage’s career simulations to explore certain interests, as well as, improve my understanding of jobs within the business, security and government, and technology sectors. The simulations I’ve completed in include.
For numerous years, I have been involved in several volunteering positions
I volunteered at the North Ryde Anglican church for 7 years. During this time I developed skills in leadership, teamwork and emotional intelligence. I participated in several community events that mainly involved working with children, as well as children with disabilities.
For four years, I was involved in assisting the St. Vincent de Paul Society. My role was to help fundraisers money for multiple initiatives, that included helping the homeless and helping grow villages in third world countries. In addition to this, I was also the coordinator for the local garden that help grew produce for a local school.
Since 2024, I have volunteered my spare time and assisting NSW Parliament offices, this was in order to grow my understanding of how government works to their communities. Furthermore, I have seen the planning and implementation of policies that have changed my local community, as well as, statewide.
In 2025 I was given an opportunity to participate in a federal election campaign for the electorate of Bennelong. During this time it was my goal to learn new communication and advertising skills such as effective messaging and branding, whilst applying my interests for new polices that I saw potential in within my community. In order for me to understand how to successfully perform effective messaging, I joined an experienced team. During this time, my team taught me to integrate local interests in a perceptive that allowed voters to relate to our campaign. An example of our work was to hold phone banking conferences; this involved calling eager voters to participate in quick surveys. This experience allowed me to genuinely understand voter concerns in an empathic manner. Moreover, it also gave me the opportunity to pass on good ideas or major concerns for my team and members of the government to help develop more local-focused polices.
Recently, I was chosen to be one of four people to become a content creator for MQ CyberSec. I applied for this position because I wanted to learn new and popular digital Marketing skills, in particular, social media post design. Considering that MQ CyberSec is a relatively new society, I saw this as a perfect opportunity. Our society knew that the best ways to increase our numbers was through using our social media platforms. Through this opportunity, My team and I wanted to design our own custom templates that use eye catching visuals, as well as, communicating events and updates as concisely as possible. In order to do this effectively my team and I watched online canva tutorials to feel more confident using the platform. Simultaneously, we exchanging our ideas on how to use particular tools like photo editing to incorporate our logo. These tutorials made our posts relate more to our branding whilst promoting our activities. So far our posts so far have successfully engaged our target market and have started to see more people join, along with improving our society's visibility to the university community.
