Yiran Wu

As a second-year undergraduate at the University of Sydney, I am ardently pursuing a double major in Finance and Data Science. I have a solid background in quantitative analysis, statistical modelling, and financial concepts, and I've polished my abilities through academic projects by sifting through complex datasets to get useful insights. I'm keen to apply my theoretical knowledge to actual real-world difficulties and am proficient in Python and R. My cosmopolitan upbringing in Sydney has given me the ability to speak Mandarin and English with ease as well as a basic comprehension of Korean and Japanese. I believe this linguistic versatility, coupled with my diversified part-time experiences during my senior year of high school and freshman year of college, uniquely qualifies me to participate in client-centric data processes at EY.

As the Vice-Assistant Director of our society's Strategic Planning Department, I collaborate with the Vice President and President to guide our organisation's direction, promote its development, and develop membership-based innovations. I negotiate favourable terms with the school administration and ensure optimal organisational functioning. This position has helped me develop my emotional intelligence, time management, and strategic planning skills. I also record the most significant discussions during our regular meetings.
