A caring and resilient person who is passionate about human rights and eager to volunteer to help asylum seekers and refugees learn the skills needed to integrate more easily into society. Originally from Egypt, I was raised in Australia in the 5th grade, so I can speak fluent Arabic. Due to frequent travel in childhood (America and Saudi Arabia), I was exposed to several different cultures, making me more open-minded and adaptable. Despite having yet to gain prior work experience, I am patient and eager to learn.
I only completed one year of the Bachelor of Medicine And Bachelor of Surgery at UTAS. I left halfway through my second year to start a Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy and Economics and Arts at Monash University.
I was actively engaged in sports from a young age. I was a competitive swimmer from the ages of 5-14, played competitive soccer from 14-16, and played basketball in my high-school team from 14-15. I played tennis from 17-20. I love to read a wide variety of books, fiction and non-fiction, especially ones with themes of philosophy, politics and social issues. I also enjoy listening to music and going on walks to de-stress.
