Summary

I am a current second-year student doing Master of Speech Pathology at the University of Melbourne and I am currently seeking a role within an adult rotational graduate program. My hospital placements within this degree have ignited my passion for problem-solving and treating swallowing and communication difficulties. Working at Latrobe Regional Health would provide the opportunity for me to gain valuable experience towards my future goals, which encompass working with head and neck oncology and tracheostomy patients.

  • Activities include: designing and modelling the use of Grid Pad 3 (Augmentative and Alternative Communication device), recognising emotions from cartoon and real-world portraits, analysing feelings from short stories, creating daily schedule, preparing and cooking meals, introducing and discussing types of relationships, and expanding vocabulary.

Goals achieved include:

  • Independently navigating through updated pages of Grid Pad and clearly expressing ideas in short phrases with minimum support
  • Increased functional use of Grid Pad (e.g., expression of body feelings and emotions)
  • Explaining recently introduced concepts in simple sentences
