With many years of experience in leadership across various schools and as the current Director of Religious Education & Formation, I seek to continue my work in Catholic life and Religious Education to help strengthen people's engagement in the life of the local and wider Church. In my work, I will remain dedicated to promoting and implementing Sydney Catholic Schools' mission: ‘To know and love Christ through learning'; and the vision: of creating Thriving Catholic communities through excellent teaching and learning.

  • Led the school communities in their understanding of the various charisms (Lasallian, Good Samaritan, Passionists, Marist, Charity & Presentation) and their place within the Catholic identity of the college and wider Church
  • Deepened staff and students' understanding of Catholic Social Teaching and incorporated opportunities for both staff and students to express their faith in action
  • Identified that Social Justice is a platform to link young people to their faith, hence developed and implemented a Social Justice program and group to deepen further social concern and opportunities for faith in action and a connection with the wider Church

  • Promoted & implemented Youth Ministry Initiatives – WYD, ACYF, Network Youth Nights, schoolies alternative immersion program, evangelisation days, prayer & discussion groups, rosary, Lenten programs, Catechist Program, Community Service & nursing home visits
  • Mentoring new and young staff particularly working closely with and mentoring both the Youth Ministry Coordinator and Social Justice Coordinator

  • Staff are grateful for the ‘open door' policy and the manner she communicates with them so that they feel valued
  • It is acknowledged that Yvonne has a beautiful manner with the girls and is very attentive to their involvement in their faith life
  • A parent expressed her pleasure in her daughter's involvement in the Religious Curriculum of the school to the extent that it is talked about home and she is finding it challenging and exciting
  • Another parent is grateful for the opportunities provided in the area of religious development e.g
  • Becoming a Eucharistic Minister, as well as the confidence that Yvonne develops in young women to become involved in the liturgy
  • Students acknowledge the retreats and reflection days are well-prepared and appropriate to their needs and create unity and closeness
  • Students view her as very approachable and always happy to give prompt feedback and clarification
  • They see her as ‘putting herself out there' to be of assistance to them
  • As a teacher, they see her as thorough and as someone who is prepared to sit down and explain if they do not understand
  • With the sad loss student, they felt that the opportunities presented in the chapel for prayer and quiet time enabled them to show their condolences in a meaningful manner and help to bring closure to the student's death.', Youth Mental Health First Aid 2023
