Regional Officer Department of Government Services | South East Metro, Victoria | June 2005 - current.

  • In my current role I conduct Residential Tenancies inspections for Rent Assessments, Repair Inspections as well as State-wide Inspections Program (SIP) which also gives me the opportunity to conciliate / negotiate and educate, issuing infringement notices if necessary and undertaking more complex inspections of traders as they arise, including where there may have been a history of compliance breaches. I do frontline dispute resolution, provide mentoring to other CAV staff and leadership to workforce planning to ensure strategic priorities are achieved.
  • I do presentations for businesses / estate agents / rental providers and consumers / renters educating them on various parts of the legislations administered by Consumer Affairs Victoria.
  • In my role as a Regional Officer, I have spent a number of years as a conciliator focusing on the Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Act 2012 as well as the Motor Car Traders Act 1986. I have assisted CAV central with warehouse product safety checks as well as attending Auctions for intel gathering at CAV central request.
  • I am appointed as an Inspector under the Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Act and be delegated as an Inspector under the Residential Tenancies Act.
  • I trained CAV Central call centre in the Owners Corporations Act 2006 (OC Act) and at the time created all the Wiki entries for the OC Act.
