Working in the main installation area of the Cypress 2 GE turbines, My role starting at Goyder South Wind Farm involved working on the night shift team working with the ground crew Cleaning components, Sorting Out tooling in lifting bags so the up tower team has the right tooling and hardware for the Component Installation. My role on the ground team lasted about 6 weeks until I was moved up to the Top Tower team

In the top tower team I started my role up there flipping bolts, torquing hardware to the correct values, Assisting in the derigging of components while practising safe systems of work.

3-4 months into my time being apart of the Top Team I acquired my dogmans ticket and was promoted to back up leading hand, I then started to call in components, direct colleagues on work that needs to be done in a safe and secure manner which is where my current role stands

  • My role at Macintyre wind farm was within the mechanical completions team working on Nordex towers, My role here was to get the towers ready for commissioning by completing the mechanical workings of the turbine and by cleaning the turbine up to a standard that they can be handed over to the client
  • Climbed wind turbine towers to inspect, troubleshoot and repair turbine equipment.
  • Promoted continuous improvement within the team by sharing experiences, lessons learned, and proposing process enhancements during regular meetings or training sessions.
  • Improved wind turbine efficiency by conducting regular maintenance and repairs on mechanical, and hydraulic components.
  • Performed quality audits of maintenance activities to ensure high standards are consistently met, resulting in reduced rework or equipment failures.

  • Assisted a team of builders with whatever they needed and helped to build a variety of structures to a very high quality and standard.

Activities

I really enjoy and put a lot of time into Football, I have been playing since I was 8 and was the Captain of my Colts team in 2021 leading the team to a premiership that year, I also put a lot of time and interest into teaching and coaching the younger players. I also love playing Cricket and have played since I was 11. My other interests include Hiking, fishing, camping/4x4 and being out in nature enjoying life.
