- I worked for a Gyprock Company in Sydney, got my OH&S safety Induction at the worksite. My experience consisted of working with dogman and sky cranes in order to moving 150 plasterboard loads within a multi story residential complex that was under construction to designated places so that the subcontract plasterboard company that I worked for (Gyprock) can do their internal renovations i.e. putting up steel framing and studs to install interior plasterboard walls. This included Aquaboards (water resistant boards), Pyroboards (thicker plasterboards) for fire resistant places within the building, normal plasterboards for normal apartment residential blocks and villaboards (cement boards) for shower rooms and toilets.
- Although I did not do a lot of the trades work but on a daily basis I connect with fellow workers on site as they did the plumbing, welding, concreting, interior renovations, sanding, painting, cement-work and finishes to sections residential blocks. I am a keen learner and am interested to gain experience and knowledge throughout a variety of expertise involving construction around a worksite. This is in order to find a position that would eventually be suitable for me in the construction industry i.e being a licensed builder, estimator, site supervisor or project manager.
- For a time on the construction site I was also working with a quality inspection manager. His job was to mark out the places on the building that did not accord to the measurements on the blue prints of the construction project.

- I am 35 years old
- I live on farm and tend to the feeding of animals i.e gathering food and vegetation for them to consume and feeding them. I had 3 dogs they all past away and although I am not a cat person but I saved a female wild kitten on my property and later she got pregnant with 4 kittens and now I have 5 cats to tend to as my pets.
- In my early 20s on the farm I did a variety of construction work along with carpenters that taught me how to do basic woodwork for interior residential renovations such as installing plasterboards, some hot water installation work that involved welding copper pipes with solder. I did the electrical installing of a lightning network around the house. I welded and erected an eaves for outside the front door of the house. I did some landscaping and design of the garden and backyard for better aesthetics. I also got some valuable advice from a Vietnamese welder who has been in the industry his whole life and has retired. So I know how to do basic welding and have constructed steel doors with hinges and large steel shelves for garage interior storage.
- I am also skilled in the art of building rock walls with concrete for boundaries of gardens or for retention walls.
- Over these years although I have not gotten into professional trades work but did learn a variety of skills from different people. Eg. I worked in team that did the entire renovations of a house that was damaged from a huge fire.
- I have knowledge in mixing cement and doing some basic rendering of walls and the skill of putting a layer of mortar between bricks, etc. in a wall
- I have basic knowledge of carpentry using standard electric tools such as electric saws, files, drills, chiselling and hammer in order to complete a project but it is not to a fine degree to flush finishes.
- My hope is to get some actual experience within the industry either apprentice-ship or just someone showing my the ropes in order for me to achieve my goals.
Hobbies and Interests
My hobbies include doing some DIY construction projects, growing my own crops, watching movies, spending time with family, ice skating, socialising, games and committing to a greater cause.
