- Sample Management: Following Standard operation procedure, properly receiving the research and clinical samples (DNA,RNA,Saliva and Blood); DNA extraction from saliva and blood samples; Quality control for DNA and RNA samples by using Nanodrop, gel electrophoresis or Bioanalyzer.
- Sample preparation: Preparing library, circularization library and DNA nanoball for Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) and Whole Genome Sequencing(WGS).
- Carrier screening and 3 bundles screening: Conducted carrier screening using Next generation sequencing (NGS) for genetic variant identification and carrier status assessment.
Performed fragment analysis by using invitrogen-seqstudio platform to analysis genetic disorders including: Fragile X Syndrome, CFTR gene mutations (Cystic Fibrosis), and SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) Syndrome, including PCR amplification, gel electrophoresis, and data interpretation. - Sanger sequencing: Conducted sanger sequencing for the validation and complementation for NGS, including: primer design, wet lab works, data interpretation and report generation.
- Maintained lab environment by monitoring temperatures, and humidity by using temp-track system. Assessing the contamination risks and calibrating temp-track sensors to
generate accurate records and reports, ensuring compliance with NATA-required laboratory environmental management protocols. - Equipment management: In the NATA-accreditation laboratory, manage and maintain important equipment, including but not limited to ensuring the normal operation and annual maintenance of laboratory equipment, and in-house calibration of precision instruments (pipettes, bioanalyzers, etc.)
