Care and Education of Children

• Implement the principles of the National Quality Framework in collaboration with Long Day Care

Centre Manager and centre staff, including self-assessment, quality improvement planning and

critical reflection.

• Responsible, in consultation with the Centre Manager and/or Educational Leader for the

preparation, implementation, delivery and evaluation of developmentally appropriate programs

for Vacation Care and After School Care for children of school age.

• Ensure the development, implementation, and evaluation of daily routines.

• Ensuring that the physical facilities of the service are maintained, ensuring a safe environment for

children, parents, and staff. Notify of any hazards or maintenance required.

• Demonstrate appropriate ways of working with children through role modelling.

• Ensure that accurate records are maintained for each child.

• Ensure the competent administration of first aid.

• Ensure food preparation is hygienic, food is nutritious, and all food safety regulations are met.
