Adrian Castro Cruz

I started as a Student in GRK Karate July, 2022. I quickly developed a love and passion for Karate as well as the Club. I quickly progressed through my belt ranks due to my ongoing commitment to my training and dedicating a lot of my time to my training to improve my skillset. I have competed in multiple tournaments, taking out Silver medals and winning Gold in the GKR Victorian State Championship for my division.

By late year 2022, I was approached by a Senior Club Member and invited to complete a Sampi (Teacher) Training Program.

In 2023 I completed my Sampi Training, progressing to my Brown & White Belt which distinguishes my belt rank as a Junior Instructor.

I am now responsible for assisting in training 2 classes which run on a Thursday night.

My key responsibility are to check students into class, answer parent enquires, ensure all students are accounted for, review data and assess students for grading, as well as assisting in the day to day running of the class, demonstrating skills/techniques and teaching groups of 15 to 20 students.

Over the past years I have been exposed to multiple construction sites due to my uncle being a self funded Builder & Developer mainly, across the Bayside Region.

Key duties whilst onsite will vary day to day depending on the project, stage of construction and tasks that are needed to be completed.

Day to day tasks can include landscaping, cleaning/removal and disposal of construction martial, assisting with frame assembly and helping others where needed.

Being exposed to to the Construction Industry at a young age has seen me developer a love for the industry, with my future goal being a Carpentry apprenticeship, working towards achieving my Builders Licences.
