Aidan Efron

Teaching students from prep-12 in both private and group settings. In this role I have gained experience in teaching within the school setting as well as managing communication between parents, school staff and the students. This role also includes the instruction of the year 5 string program, and conducting the various string ensembles that the school offers.

Tutoring primary and secondary aged students in private lessons. This role also includes aiding in the senior orchestra every Friday and in performing in school music events.

My portfolio includes:

• Live and studio production for Melbourne artists such as Miniluv, Alisya Rae and JHM, predominantly using DAW's Ableton Live and Logic.
• Brass ensemble arrangements for RnB, jazz and soul groups.
• String arrangements for small ensembles in the contemporary music idioms, for high school bands and professional ensembles
• Original compositions for big band and small jazz ensembles
• Arrangements of pop and jazz melodies for varying styles

As a musician in the Australian music scene my performance highlights are as follows:

• South Australia tour with internationally renowned trumpeter James Morrison
• Performances with the Australian National Youth Jazz Orchestra, most notably at the Sydney Con Jazz Festival
• Band leader and musical director of Pop/Rnb outfit Miniluv
• Musical director of Pop/Rnb singers Alisya Rae and JHM.
• Regular performances with my jazz trio- New Exchange- at jazz clubs around Australia, most notably at the Paris Cat Jazz Club in Melbourne, and Foundry 616 in Sydney
• Various studio sessions and album recordings with artists and bands across the country on bass and piano.

Tutoring children and adults in both private and group settings to fulfill their musical goals. The ability to accompany students has also been key in this role. I have been commended for distilling complex ideas and skills into easily understandable concepts.

Tutoring children and adults from beginner to advanced levels on piano and bass guitar. The ability to prepare lessons for students, as well as having strong communication skills and punctuality has been key in this role.

This role includes serving and preparing meals for homeless and disadvantaged people in the St Kilda area and surrounds.

My responsibilities in this role included: greeting ,guiding and controlling access of over 1000 participants; selling programs and merchandise; directing traffic; providing high quality service to all attendees as well as a variety of other tasks.

The responsibilities included in this volunteer position were: ushering patrons to their seats, ensuring individuals have tickets to the events as well as directing patrons from one venue to another.
