As an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher, I am deeply passionate about instilling a love for learning in students. I am committed to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest teaching strategies and techniques. This exhibits my commitment to create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where students feel supported and empowered to reach their full potential.
As the lead choir teacher in my former school, I demonstrated effective leadership skills by guiding and directing the choir members. I organised and coordinated rehearsals, performances and events which showcases my strong organisational skills.
With an intense focus on personalised instruction and fostering positive relationships, I strive to inspire a lifelong love of learning in my students.

have worked in a range of child-centred environments including subbing as a mainstream class teacher, SET teacher, teacher in a ASD class, child minder, tutor, tin whistle and flute teacher, summer-camp group leader, and Special Needs Assistant where I gained exceptional, specialised experience which has and will continue to support me in my continuous professional development and future career in teaching. I have also held employment in other fields such as a barista in the Phoenix Café and salesperson in Spar. Collectively, these experiences have enabled me to interact with people of different backgrounds, handle money and stock, gain organisational skills, challenge my decision- skills and to adhere to professional standards and policies.
I undertook four distinct school placements in mainstream settings and completed a specialised Special Educational Needs placement in a learning support setting. Throughout my placements I have followed direction and guidance from course work, primary curricula, class teachers, school ancillary staff, and individualised feedback from placement tutors. Furthermore, I have worked in mainstream schools as a substitute teacher
I am very passionate about Irish music. I have been a member of the Paidí Bán O’ Broin branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí for many years and I acted as a substitute for tin whistle and flute classes. My classes have included adult and child players of the tin whistle and flute at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. I have taught Irish music to 2 nd , 3 rd, 4th, and 5th class during my school placements
I chose Religious Education as my specialism for the four years that I studied in St. Patrick’s College, DCU. Through my participation in those modules, I gained various insights into the teaching of Religion in Catholic schools to children of the Catholic faith and to children who withhold varying Religious beliefs
My action research topic was improving my practice in process drama. Through research and studying lesson plans, I have gained knowledge about more effective ways of teaching drama in the classroom. I have always enjoyed teaching drama and now I can use my new knowledge and apply it to my teaching in the classroom.
I completed four semesters of Digital Learning modules at St. Patrick’s College, DCU, where we looked at the integration of ICT into different aspects of the primary curriculum in order to enhance the learning experience of each child in the classroom and to provide a broad variety in the transmission of information. Within these modules we explored uses of the Interactive Whiteboard, integrating the use of video, sound files and images as digital resources, animated story boards, we tested digital literacy resources and tried out interactive maths games. I have had the opportunity to explore what I learned and adapt my skills from these modules throughout each of my teaching practices, whether it be using ‘Class Dojo’ as behavioural motivation for children or to provide a diverse range of VAKT resources to children to aid both their learning and my teaching.
