Studying a Bachelor of Visual Arts and Design provided me with the opportunity to practice a broad range of mediums across the fine art and design spectrum. Working as a Visual Merchandiser exposed me to various ways in which individuals interact with visual material. An underlying facet of psychology stems from visual arts as a way of communication and self-expression which is essential to a therapeutic-based program and inclusivity within health facilities.
As a supervisor covering a large pool of staff, instilled in me that individuals learn and process stimuli in different ways, no different is the way in which they choose to express themselves creatively. Being fortunate enough to work alongside people of varying ethnicities and social statuses has exposed me to the beauty of diversity and heritage, how to incorporate it and why it's imperative to celebrate.
Hosting painting sessions with children as young as 3 years all the way up into adulthood exposed me to the way anxiety and self-doubt can affect well-being. Experience has taught me how to manage and remove the mental barriers placed on ourselves to achieve creative expression.
Practicing Visual artist, screen printer and painting teacher seeking employment in the health care industry with the inclusion of art. Personal skills range from retail experience, supervisory responsibilities, visual merchandise coordinating, administration work, teaching qualities to creating and implementing training programs and guides.
