For my gap-year I worked on a residential camp for year-9 students, as an outdoor educator. This included supervising students on campus & off campus, e.g. excursions, surf days, hikes, free-time, meals, sleepovers.

• Worked with-in a tight knit community which allowed me to develop my interpersonal relationships and communication between fellow colleagues as well as students.
• Established strong rapport with students and families through open communication channels and consistent feedback over the students term away, through parent phone calls & parent days.
• Increased student participation with engaging activities and a positive atmosphere that promoted collaboration and teamwork.
• Mentored a small group of students the whole way through the program, guiding & promoting a growth mindset by encouraging perseverance and resilience in overcoming tough decisions & challenges.

I began as a waitress for my first 8 months and then got promoted to a barista for my final 4 months.

• Promoted a welcoming atmosphere by greeting customers with a friendly demeanour and promptly addressing their needs.
