· Working with pathologist to isolate abnormalities and narrow down likely diagnoses
· Locating disease markers and carrying out quality control for clinicians
· Handling specimens according to laboratory protocols to maximize accuracy and precision of results
· Preparing tissue slides (paraffin and frozen sections) for histochemical or immunohistochemical staining, using both manual or automated systems; and performing standard histochemical staining and immunohistochemical (IHC) staining using a chromogenic or fluorescent methodology, by utilizing a manual or an automated IHC platform
· Participated in the development and introduction of fluorescent in-situ hybridisation (FISH) testing in the laboratory
