Currently working as a scrub/scout nurse I ensure safe and best practice is provided to the patient intraoperative.

As a scout nurse;

- I take pride in maintaining and monitoring a sterile field before and during surgery

- Communicating closely with the multidisciplinary team to secure the safe care is delivered to the patient.

- Correct counting of accountable items to ensure best practice.

- Accurate documentation of intraoperative tasks.

- I act quickly to any changes intraoperative to ensure the scrub nurse and surgeons have all equipment and instruments they need in order to continue to produce the best outcomes

As a scrub nurse;

- Work in collaboration with the scout nurse to maintain and monitor the sterile field.

- Understand the procedure and anticipate the Surgeon's needs accordingly.

- I ensure all equipment and instruments are functional and in correct order.

- I strictly adhere to regulations surrounding accountable items and instrument counting.

- Provided care for those with physical, developmental and intellectual disabilities.

- Drove clients safely to social activities and appointments.

- Established and maintained therapeutic relationships with clients and ensured a safe and caring environment.

- Provided assistance with activities of daily living such as dressing, bathing and grooming.

-Used correct communication styles based on the clients need to provide compassionate care.

- Worked within my scope of practice and used correct and accurate documentation.

- Developed care plans best suited to their lifestyle ands goals.
