Summary

My name is Amelia Meehan, I am 17 years old, and I want to be an AIN at GCUH. Next year in January I will be starting my EN (Enrolled Nursing) course after which I will continue to excel in my career by completing my RN’s (Registered Nursing) and specialising in an area that motivates me the most. I absolutely love providing care to patients and making them feel a least a little bit better within my scope of practice. At this moment in time, I am extremely interested in Paediatrics, and nursing sick children/babies back to health excites me and is my final goal at the end of my studies. GCUH has been the target area of work since I began my nursing journey. I have recently completed a Certificate 3 in Health Services Assistance through a School Based Traineeship. This included the completion of 15 theory units and 375 hours of practical experience and training in C2E (Gastroenterology) inside the Gold Coast University Hospital. Through this experience I had the privilege of working alongside an incredible team and work environment that welcomed and taught me with open arms.
