Work History

ENROLLED NURSE

G5 Surgical Inpatient Unit
GOSFORD HOSPITAL, NSW
11.2021 - Current

G5 is a fast-paced, 30-bed surgical inpatient unit caring for general surgical, colorectal, breast/endocrine, upper gastrointestinal, and gynecology patients pre- and post-operatively.

Over the last 3 years, I have gained a number of surgical skills as mentioned above. I can work independently or as part of a team, under the direct and indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse. On G5, we work within a team nursing model of care, which has enabled me to gain better communication skills to ensure efficient, high-quality care is provided for our patients.

I was awarded G5's Team member of the Year by my fellow colleagues in April 2024. My time on this ward has taught me many things about myself and this profession as a whole. I feel the events and friendships I have made have shaped me to be the nurse I am today and continue to push me to become the nurse I want to be in the future.
