Green Building Certifications
Hands-on experience in multiple green building certifications, such as Green Star, LEED, and WELL. Client-facing role on several projects to drive the process from start to finish, with multiple first-round successes. Project types range from offices, schools, residential buildings, student accommodations, warehouses, hospitals, retail spaces, and residential complexes. Roles and responsibilities include:
- Facilitating communication between technical groups to address requirements.
- Advising the project team on requirements, clarifications, and interpretations.
- Understanding clients' and projects' overall sustainability-related goals and aligning strategies to meet them.
- Managing the entire process, and restructuring where required.
- Carrying out individual assessments to address requirements. i.e., energy modeling, daylight assessments, views calculations.
- Carrying out waste audits to meet certification requirements.
- Managing the team internally to ensure the timely delivery of all deliverables. Organize regular check-ins with each team member and as a group to discuss overall status and any special considerations.
- Systems thinking is used to foresee potential issues and devise a plan of action to mitigate any risks associated with it.
- Advising project teams on interactions between multiple targeted rating goals, and impacts on the organizational goals and environmental strategies.
Code Compliance
- Assessments, modeling, and report writing to meet building codes for energy efficiency.
- Assess new projects, refurbishments, and extensions to existing buildings across various climate zones.
- Liaison with the client on concern areas and provide appropriate solutions.
- Deliver projects both individually and collaboratively, for larger projects.
Other
- Mentoring graduates and new employees on internal processes, and guiding them through projects.
- Ongoing improvements to practices, documentation, and processes to increase efficiency and cater to changing market demands.
- Manage internal resourcing.
