• Apply design-thinking principals to collaborate with Product Development and Business development to conceive and design coins, medals, medallions, tokens, and other coined products.
• Model final approved designs using both traditional sculpting methods in plasticine and plaster and computer-based 3D modelling tools such as Artcam and ZBrush that meet manufacturing specifications and business requirements.
• Work collaboratively with clients and relevant business areas within the Mint to ensure the finished designs meet acceptable design standards, specifications and deadlines.
• Follow process, provide advice and communicate effectively with various internal business stakeholders throughout the manufacturing processes including engraving, master tooling, die polishing and colour application.
• Work with external service providers to assist with their delivery of products that meet specification.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by providing advice on the development of coin design guidelines, technical specifications documentation, processes and systems support.
• Adhere to the businesses’ requirement to identify efficiencies to minimise waste of time and materials.

• Possess formal qualifications in related artistic fields such as design, sculpture and visual arts

• An understanding of coin manufacturing processes and limitations
