I am a hard-working, enthusiastic and reliable person who is seeking to expand my skills from hospitality in to mechanics. Over the past few years, I have developed good skills from working in a commercial kitchen, market stalls, and presenting classes in sustainable living to community and school groups, although there aren't many correlations between these to industries I believe that there are many transferrable skills that I have.
Being able to learn from both verbal and written instructions at a fast pace, working in a loud physically demanding space and keeping myself organized.
Working in a kitchen areas can be quite demanding, and I've had to use a high degree of initiative to get the job done, all of these skill I believe are vital in industries that use their hands and constructing things.
I haven't had any formal mechanical training, however I've been working on my 1998 Celica myself, getting it from overheating with lapsed registration to almost back on the road. I am a member of the UTAS Car Club and regularly attend events and motor sport and collection shows and cruises. I am passionate about vehicles and engines in general. I would love to get a start in the field in any capacity as soon as possible.
Starting in the dish pit and working my way up into cooking has given me an appreciation for keeping my workspaces clean.
Customer service is also an area in which I have gained valuable skills and feel very comfortable in dealing with customers in a public setting. I am a friendly outgoing person who works well with other people.
