Bethany Smith

• Specialist communications, fundraising and donor engagement role within the Corporate Affairs and Fundraising (CAF) team
• Responsible for the development, implementation and management of the Institute's donor development program (individual "mid-level" donors in the $500-$50,000 giving range, and regular giving program)
• Use data-driven insights, commitment scoring and supporter surveys to determine strategic priorities and raise the Institute's profile as a charity of choice
• Advise and collaborate with Marketing team on messaging, design and data segmentation for campaigns and appeals, including writing a large variety of copy for signatories including the CEO and medical researchers

• Management, design & execution of all direct marketing campaigns within individual giving; responsible for the retention and acquisition of donors & regular givers
• Copywriting for appeals, donor newsletters & other donor communications
• Data selections, reporting and analysis for all direct marketing campaigns & appeals
• Forecasting & projections for annual budget: appeals (retention and acquisition) & regular giving
• Helped establish a donor-centric strategy, due to which our fundraising team were awarded FIA's Best Supporter Experience & Most Outstanding Fundraising Project (Best at Thank You) 2022

• Planning, design & execution of all fundraising campaigns & appeals
• Generated all required reports & proactively provided campaign & fundraising insights and commentary to improve performance
• Initiated migration to Raiser's Edge from an unsuitable CRM & major player in the implementation of the new platform & trained staff
• Provided overarching fundraising program analysis & donor health checks
• Coordination of all fundraising programs, including running projections for campaign performance, ensuring budgets & timelines met and exceeded
