• Originally employed as an Intern and signed on as a Mechanical Graduate I have assisted in the design and development of mechanical systems under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Contributed to the creation of technical documentation and reports for standards deviations and project delivery, including detail design reports, condition assessments, operation manuals and scope of work reports.
• Conducted research and analysis to support design decisions, including feasibility assessments.
• Provided support during project planning stages, ensuring accurate scheduling and resource allocation.
• Led process improvement initiatives within the engineering team, increasing overall efficiency without compromising product quality or safety standards.
• Participated in continuous professional development opportunities to stay current with industry trends and best practices in mechanical engineering field.
• Presented complex technical information clearly during meetings with clients both verbally and in writing, ensuring their understanding of project progress and outcomes.

In this role, I have the opportunity to exercise creative freedom within the family business. Similarly, this position has afforded invaluable experience to learn from design mistakes and navigate design challenges with consideration to customer demands, business expectations and manufacturing constraints. As the product development member I am responsible for:

• Conducting Market Research and surveys
• Designing and modelling new products
• Analysing feasibility through FEA and technical evaluation
• Devising and optimising manufacturing processes
• Evaluating new material and designs to existing products
• Forecasting ROIs for new products

• Supervise and train junior employees and new starters
• Engage positively with each customer, providing professional and polite support for sales and service needs.
• Stock taking and reconciling accounts.
• Serving customers on the cash register / checkout.
• Upselling and promoting in house brands to increase branch profits.
• Participated in staff training sessions to enhance product knowledge and improve overall sales skills.
