Summary

I believe I am the right candidate for the position on offer as I am forward-thinking, proactive and perceptive, with the ability to translate strategic direction into innovative solutions and operational outcomes. In addition, I have in excess of 25 years within Intelligence, Data Analytic and Security positions; with complementary educational qualifications, including a Masters of Policing, Intelligence and Counterterrorism.

My substantive position is currently that of Director, Intelligence and Data Analytics within the Therapeutic Goods Administration. Within this role my core duties include: to manage a team of intelligence analysts, providing timely tactical and operational intelligence assessments for major Operations. This is achieved through the use of data analytics, providing data based on trends and identified patterns of behaviour. Additionally, I am responsible for producing strategic intelligence product, based on international trends and patterns.

I am highly experienced in working within and leading teams in an operational environment, and this is particularly relevant to the functions of intelligence collection and analysis to support enforcement activities. For example, I was previously employed as a Criminal Intelligence Analyst within the NSW Police Force; as a Senior Intelligence Analyst within the Australian Commission for Law Enforcement Integrity; and as the Director of Intelligence and Data Analysis within the Internal Investigations Branch of the Australian Taxation Office.

My ability to cultivate productive working relationships is amply displayed in both my current and previous employment. For example, it is critical that I liaise regularly with international counterparts and it is a core function of mine to coordinate workshops; meetings; and consultation between relevant parties with the aim being to work in partnership toward meeting our targets and key deliverables.

I am a collaborative leader who works hard at building a relationship with my team. I am motivated by my team’s growth and achievement of their professional and personal goals. I do not shy away from difficult conversations with members of my team, at the same time offering guidance and support to address issues at hand. This approach has seen many of my work projects succeed and has ultimately led to a high-functioning team capable of delivering results and meeting key milestones. During times of high pressure, I ensure I remain calm and focused, assisting with the morale of the team.

I bring the skills of leadership; high level analytical skills; change management; and the ability to deliver outcomes to the position on offer. In addition, I bring over 25 years of experience within the Criminal Justice and Security fields to the position. I am a highly resilient and self-motivated person and I meet any challenge with a positive and forward-looking approach. Having spent the totality of my career within the justice system and having worked on many high-profile cases, I am able to work under pressure, always remaining flexible and open-minded. Due to the unpredictable nature of security incidents and criminal offending, I have many years of experience in managing competing priorities, encompassed with a high workload.
