  • Safe operation and maintenance of Riverwijs tugs in a terminal towage environment.

My responsibilities include:


  • Chief Engineer onboard RAstar 3500 high performance ASD Escort terminal tugs, Iron Kestrel and Iron Brolga.
  • Active interest in operations under the contractor model.
  • Safe operation of the vessel within a high paced harbour towage environment.
  • Maintaining Vessel Deck and Engine room Machinery up to OEM, Company, and classification society standards.
  • Actively involved in the preparation and execution of internal and external auditing.
  • Completion of Permits, SOP, and Risk assessments.
  • Identifying and completing Hazards, Continuous improvements and defects raising and close out.

  • Ensuring all vessels comply with the company policies and procedures as defined by the intergraded management and planned maintenance system (IMS).
  • Develop, implement and maintain company asset and planned maintenance systems.
  • Ensure all vessel certificates are valid and maintained as per statutory requirements.
  • Coordination of all engineering activities resulting from vessel survey defects, inspection outcomes and audit deficiencies.
  • Management and control of maintenance, refit and repair costs within budgetary constraints.
  • Participation as a member of the shore-based emergency response team providing engineering advice on all emergency situations ( as required).
  • Assist in conducting vessel audits and rectification actions as required.
