• I commenced my employment at Companion Animal Veterinary Hospital, our family-owned practice, in 2022, assuming a paid position. However, my involvement in the business extends far beyond that, as I have been dedicating my time as a volunteer for as long as I can recall.

through my role I have undertaken a variety of tasks, including:

• Monitoring anaesthesia during procedures
• Preparing patients thoroughly for surgical procedures
• Assisting veterinarians during consultations with clients
• Administering medications to patients through various routes including intravenous, intramuscular, subcutaneous, oral, transdermal, and ophthalmic methods
• Conducting blood and urine analyses using Idexx Machines
• Placing animals on intravenous fluid therapy
• Maintaining and carrying for animals through IV fluid treatments
• Performing cleaning duties such as washing towels, cleaning cages and sterilizing surgical equipment
• leasing with vets to ensure all animals receive appropriate diets based on treatments
• Exercising both large and small dogs through regular walks
• Assisting in surgical operations by maintaining a sterile environment and preparing instruments
• Educating pet owners on proper nutrition, exercise regimens, and grooming techniques to enhance their pets' well-being
• Conducting dental scale and polish procedures on animals under anaesthesia
• Responding promptly to emergency situations by utilizing critical thinking skills to assess conditions swiftly and provide necessary assistance or referrals
• Engaging in customer service tasks including answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and facilitating sales processes
