Equipment

Have experience with both Manual and Robotic Total Stations (Sokkia, Trimble, Leica) as well as GPS units. Also have knowledge on survey software (Liscad, Civilcad/Magnet, Geoida, AutoCAD, Caddie, Trimble, Carlson)

Experience Breakdown

  • Australia (JUNE 2013 TO PRESENT),
  • Building Set Out: Single Level up to High Rise Apartments (up to 8 levels). Surveys were undertaken to set out new buildings, from earthworks to completed construction. (Most of these surveys included a boundary component as the boundaries had to be determined before any set out).
  • Calibration of equipment: Have calibrated equipment at the Curtin University base line as well as used the software to reduce these observations.
  • Feature/Topographical Surveys: Detail survey of areas including contours/levels (picking up all services and above ground features along with any inverts that were required).
  • Constructed Surveys: Clients have requested that an as constructed survey be done on completion of their project, these include roadways/services, car parks and new school buildings.
  • Engineering Surveys: A number of engineering surveys from setting out to monitoring have been undertaken surveys. Road Construction: Setting out of road stakes for road construction and alignment
  • Monitoring: Monitoring of various structures or projects around Perth. An example was a new school where the gymnasium roof had semi collapsed. Pre-construction points on the steel structure were surveyed in and three further visits were undertaken to determine any movement. After completion of construction further monitoring was done to determine any settlement.
  • Cadastral Surveys (under the guidance of the firm's Licensed Surveyor), Landgate Data Searches: Searching for field books etc. and preparing boundary calculations from this data. Re-pegs: Numerous re-pegs have been undertaken to re-determine the boundaries of certain lots, either for construction purposes or to settle disputes. Urban Subdivisions: Running of alignments for determining the existing as well as the subdivisional boundaries. Survey of GLA/GLAR lease areas and drafting of plans. Pegging of number SSA surveys have been undertaken under the guidance of a Licensed Surveyor .

Summary Of Experience

  • South Africa, 1992 to 2013, Been involved in the survey industry for 20 years and during this time period dealt with a number of large subdivisions, strata and engineering surveys. A good knowledge of all law relating to land was required. As well as a good knowledge of the various Town Planning schemes within Johannesburg in order to advise clients the best survey method for their project.
  • Australia, 2013 to 2017 at Sorensen & Short, Was originally employed to assist with running of the office. Therefore have been involved in most aspects of a survey business, (quoting/invoicing and completing surveys). The types of surveys carried out include, engineering/construction (all types from set outs to monitoring), feature surveys and cadastral surveys (small repegs to large subdivisions and strata surveys).
  • 2017 to 2022 at Oracle Surveys, Was employed to assist with the cadastral arm of Oracle surveys but have been involved in all aspects. Due to the increase in work load for the company have also been in charge of a number of large construction projects over the last number of years.
  • 2022 to Present at ProSurveys, Was approached to assist with the increase in workload.
