• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, air conditioning and driveability issues
• Carry out Roadworthy tests
• Carry out mechanical and electrical insurance inspections and repairs for local body shops
• When required i also source parts, create quotes and talk customers through the required repairs aswell as dealing with any issues with the aforementioned as they arise
• Use Mechanic Desk application to fill out job cards, look up vehicle history and make quotes/invoices
• I am required to photograph and carry out "entry checks" to every vehicle prior to work commencing, all of which has to be entered into mechanic desk, this has improved my attention to detail on the admin side of the job

• Service, inspect and maintain vehicles
• Diagnose and repair all mechanical and some electrical issues with the use of basic electrical test equipment and diagnostic computer
• Working with the customer to discuss issues, symptoms and test drive vehicle
• Use of diagnostic computer to read fault codes and analyze live data
• Carry out pre purchase inspections

• Suspension lift and/or increased weight carrying upgrades
• Bullbars (most requiring wiring/bumper/inner guard modifications)
• Dual battery systems (including fixed and portable solar panels, inverters, canopy lights, DCDC chargers, battery monitors etc)
• Roof top tents and roof racks
• Electric brake controllers
• Lightbars and spotlights
• 2 way radios

On occasion i also carried out fitment of genuine accessories for the numerous brands attached to Westco (owner of Top End Off-road centre)

This role was an all in one task that included:

• Assistant manager - Carrying out the open and close of the business. Working closely with the manager (owner) to ensure everything runs smoothly. Monitor cash intake and deposit records. Balancing the EFTPOS each night. Assisting customers with any issues or complaints they may have. Using mechanic desk and MYOB to organise the work and enter/monitor sales and purchase invoices/returns. Carried out inventory counts and created customer relations (both trade and public) to ensure excellent service and repeat business. Involved in job interviews, assessing both the candidate and their application to ensure the hire of talented, well rounded mechanics. Liaise with trade, the public and insurance companies as required. I have also run the company solo for multiple weeks whilst the manager was away
• Workshop controller - Organising the days work and delegating work to each technician. Ensuring tasks are completed on time and relaying with the customer any issues that may arise
• Front desk - Greeting customers, discussing vehicle issues they are having, creating a booking for a suitable day/time, creating a quote from the technicians diagnostic form, discussing the quote/diagnostic with the customer and final invoicing
• Parts interpreter - Locating necessary parts as required from the technicians diagnostic and ensuring parts are correct for the vehicle make/model and year.
• Mechanic - Lending a hand in the shop if required or if the technicians are struggling with a task

I was also involved in the bosses other business (Australian Organic Coolants) which had multiple warehouses down the east coast and dealt with customers as far as the United Arab Emirates. Dealing with orders and liaising with shipping companies for both national and international freight

• Carried out fault diagnosis of Cooling and Air conditioning systems in light vehicles, trucks, buses, cranes and road sweepers.
• Carried out all mechanical repair and diagnosis, including but not limited to servicing, gearbox replacements, engine replacements, headgaskets, timing belts, evaporator replacements (some requiring full dash removal)
• Carried out radiator repairs and core replacements in light vehicle and large trucking/mining applications
• I learned to soft solder and silver solder
