I commenced my corrections career at the Courts in January 2019, where I quickly earned a reputation as a reliable and hardworking officer. While based there, I frequently supported operations at MAP by working in Reception, Operational Support and Units, demonstrating flexibility and a strong work ethic.
In 2020, I transferred permanently to MAP to gain broader experience. Since then, I have taken on the role of Senior Prison Officer on numerous occasions in most areas within the MAP Precinct, contributing to business continuity.
Currently, I manage anywhere from 20 to 40 staff working as a Senior Prison Officer at Courts as well as recently being a Squad Leader for Metro Squad 1 and Metro Squad 7, 2025.
I take pride in my commitment to staff development and workplace safety. I have played a key role in the Peer Assistance and Correctional Team (PACT) initiative, contributing to the Safety Summit and promoting strategies to reduce occupational violence and enhance staff wellbeing.
One of my core strengths is my ability to motivate and empower people, whether they are staff or prisoners. I bring over 30 years of prior professional experience in leadership, training, and performance development, and I actively use these skills to mentor others.
To date, I have trained 44 staff, with my next appointment as Squad Manager for the upcoming March 2026 intake.
I actively push my personal development and work with my mentors to be that best that I can be and I am looking forward to assisting the MAP Precinct with its future success.
