Summary

As a former student of one of Melbourne's top sporting school's Parade College sport was always going to be an integral part of my life. Even though i never excelled to the level of some of my friends who went on to play AFL like many the disciplines of sport have left an everlasting imprint on my life and in recent years my passion for sport has led to personal rewards if not financial ones. Having moved to Mildura 15 years ago i was lucky enough to have worked as Secretary for the Sunraysia Rugby League and have since built up a core knowledge base, contact base and index of knowledge that i believe would be beneficial to The Mildura Basketball Association and more importantly the broader community to which it is part of. Now whether that is in utilizing my administration skills , sporting contacts, media ability and or contacts , business contacts , promotional abilities ,grant writing ability , understanding of the complexities of higher level sporting bodies and the often present changing political climate , lateral thinking , customer service excellence or a variety of the above i really believe i have something to offer. I currently manage over 20 staff , haven't had a day off in over 18 months , open the store as needed often at 5am and regularly return for multiple shifts on the one day demonstrating my work ethic. I am in charge of and have the responsibility for cash handling of in excess of between $6500-12000 daily and am responsible for stock exceeding $200,000 demonstrating my reliability and trustworthiness. I work well as part of a team or individually if required and will go beyond that is required in the pursuit of obtaining the best outcome for the team . As someone who has been passed over for jobs because i was deemed too qualified i need to stress i am here for the team and big picture which is to promote the sport, the participants, protect the values given, work under the leadership team and management and simply offer my advice if needed and experience ( i have zero intentions of climbing any ladders ) and most of all simply do the job at hand to the best of my ability. I am happy to discuss hours, salary , the position and anything that would make the organization the best it can be. I thank you for the opportunity to apply for the position of Office Manager - Competitions Co-Ordinator.
