NSW Police Detective who investigates the sexual exploitation of children, which is facilitated through the use of the internet and telecommunication systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct both proactive and reactive investigations to identify persons utilising the internet to groom and procure children for sexual exploitation
• Coordinate the NSW Police response to matters relating to child sexual exploitation referred from external law enforcement agencies
• Provide assistance, specialist advice and technical support to State Crime Command and Local Area Commands relating to the investigation of child sexual exploitation facilitated by the internet or telecommunication systems
• Preparing briefs of evidence for prosecutors to present in matters in court.

Conduct detailed investigations relating to sexual assaults, robberies, home invasions, public place shootings, murders, mid-level drug supply and frauds.

• Observing the activities of criminal suspects
• Interviewing witnesses, suspects and informants
• Preparing briefs of evidence
• Giving evidence in court.

Selected to be part of a small team of police officers working in the Plain Clothes Unit focused on investigating break and enters and drug supply within the Cumberland Local Area Command.

Key Responsibilities

• Engaging in pro-active policing which involved patrolling the Local Area Command for people committing drug related offences
• Attending residential and commercial break and enters and investigating the circumstances and identifying the offenders
• Strategising procedures for identifying the offenders and collaborating with team members to implement those strategies.

Frontline responder to a wide arrange of incidents including domestic dispute issues, motor vehicle accidents, armed robberies, stealing offences, assaults, and deceased persons.

Key Responsibilities

• Emergency Response- Respond swiftly and decisively to emergency calls, including accidents, disturbances, and crimes in progress, providing aid, securing scenes, and apprehending suspects when necessary
• Conflict Resolution- Mediate disputes, diffuse tense situations, and use de-escalation techniques to resolve conflicts peacefully, minimizing the need for force and promoting positive outcomes
• Report Writing- Document incidents, observations, and actions taken in detailed and accurate reports, maintaining comprehensive records essential for legal proceedings and departmental accountability.
