  • Sila specializes in the design, engineering and manufacturing of concrete products to be used in the mining industry.
  • My role here as leading hand is to support the foreman and production manager in all aspects of production.
  • I was originally headhunted by the GM, whilst still in Scotland, to bring my leadership to the business to help improve the culture and train the staff on how to work cohesively as a team.
  • I have since carved out my own niche at Sila and have taken on more roles. I currently manage the monolithic plant which produces the dry concrete ready for the production teams. Most recently i have been looking closely at developing safe operating procedures, conducting risk assessments and improving the safety culture across the business.
  • Cultivated a positive work environment that fostered teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • I joined Benholm during the covid pandemic. A large landscaping company who sought to use my skills building shade sails and outdoor structures to provide outdoor, Covered spaces for the hospitality sector.
  • I excelled and with the leadership skills I have developed through playing rugby I was elevated to the job of production manager.
  • Duties would include but not limited to:

  • I was asked to join Glasgow by former Australian coach Dave Rennee, as cover during the rugby world cup 2019.I jumped at the chance.my wife, son and I made the move to Scotland to link up with the team.
