  • August 2006 - 8YRS 4 Months Current now Goulburn Valley Health is the largest and busiest health facility in northern Victoria.
  • The Accident & Emergency Department handles in excess of 150 personal enquiries as well as many more telephone enquiries 24 hours per day.
  • My role is to be the first point of contact for people in various states of injury and distress.
  • I also deal with internal enquiries from medial and administrative staff from the facility.
  • Current Duties Assess the category of each person attending at A&E (e.g.
  • T.A.C., Workcover, Private Health funds etc) Gather accurate information on patients and entry of details into the facility's data base.
  • Collating of referrals, reports, requests and transmission of those details by both fax and email.
  • Dealing with face-to-face and telephone enquiries.
  • Multitasking during the bulk of my shift.
  • Dealing with upset, abusive, drug and alcohol affected people in a variety of circumstances and having the ability to remain calm and empathise with these people to placate them quickly.
  • Handling both cash and EFTPOS transactions Working shift-work including weekends and Public Holidays and always willing to cover extra shifts.
  • Following OH&S policies and procedures as well as identifying and reporting hazards.
  • Prior Employments Prior to my appointment at Goulburn Valley Health I held a number of retail management positions as well as holding a part-time position at GV Health at the same time.
  • So working two jobs into a fulltime job GV Health and Warwick Jones retail manager partime with my partime medical job, for 5 yrs now just GV Health.
