My role within the Newman rebuild center is to ensure safety policies and procedures are followed and continuous improvement culture is sustained within the teams.
Since moving into the role many changes have taken place regarding the quality assurance processes that are in place to ensure a reliable quality product is delivered to supply and our customer.

This role has seen several employers through the process of acquisition.
Portside Fabrication the initial employer was acquired by HWE Mining who in turn was then acquired by BHPBIO.
Although ownership has changed, the roles and responsibilities have remained consistent throughout, these being daily management and supervision of a shutdown team of roughly 25 trades and trade assistants.
Other duties include assisting site planners with shutdown preparations.
A 2/2 roster services site shutdown needs, and I have been involved since the inception of this service.
