My name is Dima Yaqoob, a 21-year-old criminology student at Western Sydney University, seeking a career in the criminology field with a focus on working with prisoners.
I have a solid foundation in administration and event coordination, gained through my roles as a Secretary and Event Organizer at the Bartella Association and STARTTS. These positions have honed my skills in managing complex tasks, communicating effectively with diverse individuals, and ensuring smooth operations in various settings.
My experience includes drafting official correspondence, organizing documents, managing office supplies, and scheduling appointments, all of which have developed my attention to detail and organizational abilities. Additionally, I have coordinated logistics for events, including liaising with vendors and booking venues, which has strengthened my problem-solving and negotiation skills.
Working directly with players and their families at the Wollongong World Cup has enhanced my interpersonal skills and my capacity to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism. I am passionate about applying my criminology studies to support rehabilitation and contribute positively to the correctional system. I am committed to leveraging my skills to aid in the development of effective rehabilitation programs and support individuals in their journey towards reintegration into society.
