• Over the past years in Defence I have had numerous roles including team member, acting 2IC and Security operations specialist.
• Enlisted into the army in 2014 and joined the Royal Australian Infantry Unit (8/9 RAR) and reported to my supervisor.
• Work in teams as varying sizes, skillsets and capabilities.
• Gained exposure to static and mobile security, including security management, patrolling techniques, cordon and search, population protection, vehicle checkpoints, explosive ordnance searches, point target reconnaissance, vital asset protection, convoy security and perimeter security, area reconnaissance and surveillance, detailed reporting on personnel, vehicles and infrastructures. Use of military grade surveillance equipment ranging from thermal imaging, smaller scale reconnaissance UAV's, ID and imaging capture software, communications equipment, use of UHF, VHF and satellite systems.
• Qualified to use a range of small arms and high explosive ordnance.
• Worked long and irregular hours, often working for months at a time in high pressure situations.
• Operated in shifts and responded to callouts as a quick response force with extremely short notice.
• Performed the role of second in charge in small teams and demonstrated an ability to make consistently sound decisions with limited information.
• Developed strong communication skills by presenting numerous briefs (to higher command and subordinates) and authoring operational plan, threat assessments, minutes, letters, memos and other documents.
• During my time in defence I worked with colleagues, senior executives, government representatives including the prime minister and foreign defence staff enabling a greater understanding of cultural diversity.

• Searched cells of inmates to identify and confiscate contraband and other prohibited items.

I started doing Labor work at the age of 15, I have done Labor work as a painter, concreter, building sheds, Basic plumbing and also done first year apprenticeship before l pursued my career in the military. Here is just a few of the skills and attributes I have learnt over the years.

• Learned diverse construction trades skills, including basic carpentry, painting and plumbing.
• Collaborated with team members to carry out efficient work with optimal safety and achieve timetables.
• Completed heavy Labor tasks, hauling materials and digging ditches.
• Read and understood orders to accurately measure, cut and lay out needed materials.
• Erected and removed temporary structures such as trench liners and scaffolding to meet team needs.
• Measured and cut pipes according to project specifications under supervision of my foreman.
• Carried materials and tools from truck to properly set up job site.
• Removed old sinks, toilets and pipes in preparation for installation of new fixtures.
• Thoroughly inspected pipes and piping systems to assess quality and condition.
• Followed instructions from my foreman for assembling and installing variety of valves and fittings, including fire hydrant systems.
• Eliminated risks by correctly identifying potential safety hazards.
• Followed established job site safety regulations and maintained safe and clean work area.

I worked for Pappinbarra frames and trusses for just over a year, I built frames and trusses by hand using nail guns and a machine clamp, once I built them I managed loading and unloading of shipments, marking and maintaining organized and secured materials to minimize damage.

I started at Charcoal Chicken at a young age because I was very eager to start work, I started as a dish washer in the back then made my way up to preparing/ cooking meals and taking orders. I would also open the shop on my own early in the morning and prepare the shop for the day. I also trained new staff members that were new to the job.
