  • Over the past years in Defence I have had numerous roles including team member, acting 2IC and Security operations specialist.
  • Enlisted into the army in 2014 and joined the Royal Australian Infantry Unit (8/9 RAR) and reported to my supervisor.
  • Work in teams as varying sizes, skillsets and capabilities.
  • Gained exposure to static and mobile security, including security management, patrolling techniques, cordon and search, population protection, vehicle checkpoints, explosive ordnance searches, point target reconnaissance, vital asset protection, convoy security and perimeter security, area reconnaissance and surveillance, detailed reporting on personnel, vehicles and infrastructures. Use of military grade surveillance equipment ranging from thermal imaging, smaller scale reconnaissance UAV's, ID and imaging capture software, communications equipment, use of UHF, VHF and satellite systems.
  • Qualified to use a range of small arms and high explosive ordnance.
  • Worked long and irregular hours, often working for months at a time in high pressure situations.
  • Operated in shifts and responded to callouts as a quick response force with extremely short notice.

I worked for Pappinbarra frames and trusses for just over a year, I built frames and trusses by hand using nail guns and a machine clamp, once I built them I managed loading and unloading of shipments, marking and maintaining organized and secured materials to minimize damage.

I started at Charcoal Chicken at a young age because I was very eager to start work, I started as a dish washer in the back then made my way up to preparing/ cooking meals and taking orders. I would also open the shop on my own early in the morning and prepare the shop for the day. I also trained new staff members that were new to the job.
