Summary

Since starting work in the disability sector in 2016, I have been passionate and dedicated in my ability to make a positive change to the lives of the people I support. I pride myself on my hard-working attitude and I am always willing and excited to learn new things and grow as a person and as a support worker. During my time with Rise, I have taken opportunities to step up and act as House Senior, providing support to my Coordinator. In 2024, I was nominated by my coordinator and house senior for Employee of the Year. I have been a member of the WHS committee to further assist in creating a safe work environment for all staff. I have recently completed my Certificate IV in Community Services, and I am interested in taking on a new role and to learn new skills relevant to the sector.

Disability Support worker - Including House Senior

Rise Network
Midvale, WA
05.2016 - 11.2018

Rise was my host organisation while I was completing my traineeship with Health Training Australia. Once I had finished my traineeship, I was employed by Rise Network as a support worker.

I worked as a support worker before taking the opportunity to be a house senior.

As a house senior my main roles were:

  • Support team leader with duties such as rosters and team meetings
  • Allocating and confirming shifts on CM3 system
  • Writing monthly invoices for clients (non NDIS)
  • Mentoring staff
  • Communicating with family members
  • ordering items for the house including chemicals, personal care items and medications

The house senior role at the time was very different to what it is today, while working as a house senior I was still working on the floor completing support worker duties as well.

I left my job with Rise to go travelling.
